.NET Windows Mobile Developer

 

The Mobile Developer reports to A2B’s VP of Technology.  Working as a core member of A2B’s software product team, the Mobile Developer is responsible for validating and fleshing out Windows Mobile product concepts for A2B’s Asset Tracking product lines.  The Mobile Developer will propose feature designs in response to market needs, including estimates of time required to completely implement the new features. 

The Mobile developer implements the designs approved by the product manager, including rendering the graphical user interfaces and authoring all device source code in the .NET Compact Framework and some related server-side features.  The position is directly responsible for defining and building user interface components, user interaction controllers, data models, transaction controllers, data transfer controllers, data transfer messages, and message processing units.

Skills and Experience

  • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft .NET framework, C#, Object-Relational mapping, control authoring, OEM hardware and P/Invoke, modular applications, SQLCE, and related technologies. 
  • Mobile User Interface design and human-factors usability experience is essential to success in this role.  
  • A solid understanding of Windows Mobile application fundamentals is required. 
  • Experience with the Scrum methodology and Continuous Integration are also advantageous.

Education and Experience

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field.  
  • The successful candidate will show 5 to 10 years progressive experience in commercially available or enterprise-class mobile application construction, design, and enhancement.  
  • Applicants must have at least 3 years of hands-on experience developing Windows Mobile applications.  
  • Experience with automated data collection hardware (barcode, RFID) and familiarity with ADC methodologies is strongly preferred.
