Simplified inventory importing is one significant enhancement. This feature allows importing of large blocks of inventory data, thereby enabling manufacturers to create many UIDs in a single process. Additional enhancements include improved embedded items management and report capability as well as updated registration features, updated harvest features, simplified workflow support through use of acceptance groups and enhanced HPC performance.

UID is mandated landmark policy by the DoD requiring all assets and personal property owned by the DoD, including assets in the possession of contractors and legacy items at military installations, to be marked with a unique serialized identification number and then registered in accordance with MIL STD 130M.
