A2B Tracking Solutions Inc Marks 15 Year Anniversary

PORTSMOUTH, RI (October 1, 2009) – A2B Tracking Solutions Inc, a leader in bar code-based, turn-key tracking solutions and the leading software provider for Department of Defense serialized item tracking and Item Unique IDentification (IUID) is celebrating its 15^th anniversary.

Since it was founded in 1994, A2B has completed many high level software development projects including a mobile tracking system for UPS. The company has also produced asset and package tracking software for hundreds of customers in military, financial services, government, healthcare, education, manufacturing and telecommunications sectors.

In 2004 the Department of Defense adopted IUID methodology in order to track all DoD assets worldwide. A2B immediately developed UID Comply!^® software to meet the government’s requirements (MIL STD 130 and MIL STD 129). A2B’s staff of engineers holds a unique depth of bar code tracking knowledge. One of A2B’s principals, David Collins, developed the first bar code tracking system over forty years ago and went on to design the bar code asset tracking system (BCATS) for the Federal Aviation Administration. A2B’s software expertise runs a full range of automatic identification technologies from bar code, to RFID, to IUID label and plate production. The A2B team has completed over 3,000 tracking installations around the world.

The company recently received the 2009 Rhode Island Innovator of the Year Finalist Award, in information technology, from RI Governor Donald L. Carcieri. Last year A2B President Peter Collins received the prestigious ID Global Award for his leadership in automatic identification technology at ceremonies in Milan, Italy.
